A great edition of iHeart radio awards event took place in Los Angeles on 22 of March and revealed a great image of the music industry of what we know nowadays. We saw a lot of big names on stage. There was an astonishing show created by Jenifer Lopez . The event celebrated the most played artist on the well-known iHeart Music station. The show was a real success. It reminded us of the good old days when crowd used to go wild on stadiums. There were a lot of artists who won awards for different categories, let’s see the full list of winners below.
Highights of iHeart Radio awards 2022
Song of the year is won by the incredible “Levitating” by Dua Lipa but because she was not presented, the category was quickly mentioned in non televised awards not being presented on air.
BTS won two socially voted awards. Fifth year in a row they won best fan group and best music video for “Butter”.
Harry Styles won the Tour of the Year, an award which was not given last year due to the pandemic situation.
Iconic moments iHeart radio awards
Jennifer Lopez won the ICON Award, following Bon Jovi (2018) and Elton John (2021), she also did a great show singing her hits and creating iconic vibes of her activity in fashion, music, dance and apparences over the year. She made an overview of her career that will remain in people’s vision forever.
The show was also made by Megan Thee Stallion, Måneskin, Jason Aldeanand John Legend and Charlie Puth.
The emotion created by John Legend and Charlie Puth who sat opposite each other at the piano and sang several of each other’s hits was incredible. It was a special moment for the event for sure.
Awards
Avril Lavigne scored her first Billboard Hot 100 single, “Complicated,” when she was 17, and she honored Rodrigo. Rodrigo was also 17 when he got his “driver’s license” breakthrough.
Rodrigo also won the New Pop Artist Award. Rodrigo’s pop-punk hit “good 4 u” showcased the reach of Avril Lavigne’s hit “Sk8er Boi” and earned another artist an award.
Male artist of the year was Lil Nas X for an incredible record year with a lot of hits played on iHeart Music radio being streamed in a lot of countries.
Machine gun Kelly is the winner for alternative artist of the year category. He has an incredible record this year and very different and new music.
